The Magic Of Reiki
What is Reiki anyway?
Reiki is a holistic healing therapy, based on the Eastern concept of energy flow, utilizing the seven chakras, and channeling Universal Life Force Healing energy. The human body has seven main energy centers. The therapy of Reiki works with these centers.
Reiki was inspired by the great Japanese healing teacher Dr. Mikao Usui. Around 1922, Dr. Usui received and then incorporated the Usui Reiki healing system. Many of the techniques in this healing therapy are much older as Dr. Usui was a student of Tibetan spirituality. Humans have been healing with their hands since time began. Dr. Mikao Usui organized a teachable system to share with people.
The processes of Reiki therapy are distinct compared to other forms of alternative meditation or healing processes. Reiki healing concentrates on self-healing, the five Reiki spiritual principles, and the accreditation of the healers through a process of initiation.
What are the primary principles of Reiki?
The main purpose of this therapy is to be able to heal emotional and spiritual flow. The Practitioner first learns to manage the energy of the Self and then moves on to learning to help others.
The other sub-purpose of this therapy is to understand energy management in very practical ways. This therapy transmits the flow of universal life energy called “ki” in Japanese. “Ki” flows through the universe, and the therapy connects the energy to the human body. It involves learning to ground the energy, proper breathing, and then “flowing” energy with intention.
Reiki is used in healing animals as well as people.
The practice of self-healing by the Reiki healers is done through the placement of their hands in traditional positions, stimulating their own body energy. Reiki can also be practiced through group and distance healing.
In group healing, there are two or more Reiki practitioners placing their hands over the body of the client.
In distance or absence healing involves visualizing the client, his or her illness through the Reiki symbol. As Reiki Practitioners are trained to transcend time and space, Reiki works effectively in person as well as remotely.
Understanding the Magic of Reiki
Reiki seems very magical to those who do not practice. Training is required to learn the techniques and to discover the myriad of possibilities that Reiki holds. Reiki can be used for healing, energy balance, to raise the vibration and consciousness of a person or a group. Reiki is a practice that can continually improve one’s life through its techniques.
One healing treatment can transform one’s physical, mental, and emotional body and well-being.
One class can transform one’s outlook on life and raise the personal vibration which can be transformative in ways that we cannot imagine.
Consciousness is being created through Reiki as the magic is affecting the mainstream for the better. As we continue to raise each other up, there’s no telling where the possibilities will lead.
