13 More Things You Can Discover in Your Akashic Records
Your soul’s story is so much bigger than you might imagine.
One of my favourite things about working in the Akashic Records is watching someone’s curiosity come alive.
A person might arrive for a reading because they’re struggling with a relationship, questioning their career, or feeling as though something important is missing from their life. They have one question. And then we begin exploring.
Suddenly, that one question opens the door to ten others. Wait. You mean I can ask about that, too? Oh, absolutely!
Within the spiritual framework I teach, the Akashic Records are understood as an energetic library of the soul’s experiences, lessons, relationships, gifts, and possibilities. These are spiritual and intuitive explorations rather than scientifically verified records of past events. I encourage people to approach them with curiosity and discernment.
Here are thirteen fascinating places to begin.
1. Your Soul’s Profile
Imagine meeting yourself without all the labels you’ve collected throughout this lifetime—not your occupation, family role, or the personality you’ve developed in response to your experiences. Just you.
Your soul profile is one of the foundational areas I explore in Akashic Records readings. Within my practice, we look at the characteristics and qualities associated with your soul, including how you naturally express yourself, learn, connect, and experience the world.
Perhaps you’ve always been deeply sensitive to other people’s emotions, had an extraordinary need for independence, or felt an instinctive desire to protect others. Instead of asking why you’re so different, you might begin asking what those qualities have been trying to teach you.
2. Your Soul Group of Origin
Have you ever met someone and immediately felt as though you’d known them forever? Or walked into a gathering and felt completely out of place, even though everyone was perfectly lovely?
Within Akashic teachings, we sometimes explore the concept of soul groups: spiritual families or communities of consciousness that share certain qualities, interests, or developmental themes. Different traditions describe these groups in different ways.
Exploring a soul group can offer an interesting perspective on someone’s natural tendencies, the environments where they feel comfortable, and why belonging has been such a significant theme. The goal isn’t to decide one group is better than another, but to appreciate the many ways people experience being human.
3. Your Soul’s Natural Gifts and Talents
Some people arrive in this world with abilities that seem to come remarkably easily: a child who understands music without formal training, someone who instinctively knows how to comfort people, or a person who immediately senses the emotional atmosphere of a room.
Within the Akashic framework, we can explore these qualities as possible soul gifts: healing, teaching, creativity, communication, leadership, or intuitive work.
Sometimes the gift is something you’ve already recognized. Other times, it’s something you’ve spent your entire life dismissing because it seems so ordinary to you. We often assume that because something comes naturally to us, it must come naturally to everyone. It doesn’t.
4. Spiritual Training Between Lifetimes
Within some Akashic teachings, we explore the idea that the soul continues learning and developing between incarnations. These teachings describe spiritual training, preparation, and opportunities to develop particular abilities or understandings.
Why does a particular subject feel so familiar? Why do certain skills seem to awaken quickly once someone begins practicing? Exploring spiritual training can offer one possible symbolic explanation.
It doesn’t replace learning, practice, and experience in this lifetime. Rather, it can provide another lens through which to consider our interests and abilities.
5. Recurring Soul Lessons
Have you ever noticed that life keeps presenting you with the same lesson, only with different people and circumstances?
Perhaps you repeatedly find yourself rescuing others, learning to establish boundaries, or encountering situations that challenge your confidence or independence.
In Akashic work, we may explore these recurring themes as soul lessons. The idea isn’t that you’re being punished or have failed a spiritual examination. It’s that certain patterns may be worth understanding more deeply.
What am I ready to understand differently this time? Sometimes recognizing the pattern is the beginning of changing it.
6. Past-Life Experiences
Of course, we have to talk about past lives! This is probably one of the subjects most people associate with the Akashic Records.
Within traditions that include reincarnation, past-life exploration considers the possibility that our present experiences may connect symbolically or spiritually with other lifetimes. People may explore impressions of historical settings, relationships, occupations, or recurring themes.
But I don’t believe the most useful question is whether you were a queen, a priestess, or a famous historical figure. I find it far more interesting to ask: What does this experience help me understand about my life today?
Whether someone understands these impressions literally or symbolically, the value is often found in the present-day insight they inspire.
7. Soul Agreements and Relationships
Relationships can be some of our greatest teachers—and some of our greatest mysteries!
Within Akashic teachings, a soul agreement is sometimes described as a spiritual understanding between souls concerning experiences or lessons they may share. Perhaps someone helped you discover courage, challenged you to develop boundaries, or taught you that loving someone doesn’t mean abandoning yourself.
A spiritual interpretation is not evidence of another person’s intentions, nor does it obligate anyone to remain in an unhealthy situation. A soul agreement should never become an excuse for mistreatment. Instead, we can use the concept to explore what we’re learning and what choices are available to us now.
8. Why Certain Places Feel Like Home
Have you ever travelled somewhere for the first time and felt an immediate sense of recognition? Maybe it was a coastline, mountain village, forest, or city halfway around the world.
In Akashic exploration, we might consider whether these feelings connect with symbolic memories, spiritual associations, or past-life themes. But places also affect us through culture, landscape, memory, and our nervous system’s responses to environments.
What interests me most is the feeling itself. What does that place awaken in you—peace, freedom, belonging, creativity? Sometimes the location becomes a doorway into understanding what your present life needs more of.
9. Your Relationship With Abundance
Money is rarely just about money. For many people, it’s connected to safety, freedom, self-worth, family expectations, responsibility, and deeply learned beliefs.
In Akashic work, we can explore the spiritual meanings someone associates with abundance. Perhaps they feel guilty receiving money for work they love, believe generosity means giving until they have nothing left, or associate financial success with losing connection to loved ones.
These patterns may also have understandable roots in family history, upbringing, and lived experience. The Records offer one reflective framework for examining them. I find it fascinating how often our relationship with receiving mirrors our relationship with deserving.
10. Your Spiritual Helpers and Guides
Many spiritual traditions describe forms of guidance beyond ordinary human relationships. Depending on the tradition, these may include spirit guides, ancestral helpers, teachers, or other benevolent spiritual beings.
Within my practice, people may explore impressions associated with spiritual guidance and what those experiences mean to them. Some find this deeply comforting. Others are simply curious.
I encourage discernment here, too. Not every thought, sensation, or coincidence needs to be interpreted as a message. A healthy spiritual practice should support your judgment, not replace it.
11. Your Soul’s Current Developmental Themes
Sometimes people want to know whether they’re on the right path. There are seasons when life feels beautifully aligned, and others when everything seems to be changing at once.
Within Akashic teachings, we can explore a soul’s current developmental themes. Perhaps you’re learning to trust yourself, moving from service through sacrifice toward service through healthy boundaries, or discovering how to express creativity after years of putting others first.
I don’t see spiritual development as a competition or ranking system. Sometimes growth looks like doing less. Sometimes it looks like saying no. And sometimes it looks like finally allowing yourself to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to create.
12. Patterns That May Have Travelled Through Your Family
One of the most meaningful areas of my work involves exploring patterns we inherit through our families.
A grandparent experiences scarcity. A parent grows up believing security can disappear at any moment. A child learns to worry about money before they’re old enough to understand it. By the time another generation arrives, the original circumstances may be long gone, but the family’s habits and expectations can remain.
Psychology and research into intergenerational experiences help explain some ways patterns can be transmitted. Epigenetics is also an active research area, although claims about specific emotional memories being biologically inherited across many human generations go beyond what has been established.
Within Akashic healing, I use a spiritual and symbolic framework to explore emotional meanings attached to these family patterns. The intention isn’t to erase anyone’s history. It’s to honour it and decide which patterns we no longer want to continue.
13. The Possibilities You’re Ready to Explore Next
And finally, one of my favourite subjects: possibility.
People sometimes imagine the Akashic Records contain a fixed plan for their lives, as though every decision has already been made. That’s not how I approach this work. I believe our choices matter.
Within a reading, we might explore opportunities, directions, or themes relevant to someone’s circumstances. Perhaps they’re considering a career change, ready to begin teaching or writing, or sensing an old chapter ending.
Rather than asking the Records to make their decisions, I encourage people to use the experience to reconnect with their own wisdom. Spiritual exploration should expand our sense of possibility, not limit it.
The Most Interesting Discovery Might Surprise You
After years of working with the Akashic Records, I’ve come to appreciate that the most meaningful discoveries aren’t always the most dramatic ones.
Yes, exploring soul groups, past lives, spiritual gifts, and unusual experiences can be fascinating. But sometimes a person leaves a reading understanding themselves a little better, recognizing an overlooked strength, or realizing they have permission to make a different choice.
We aren’t looking backward simply to collect interesting information. We’re exploring the bigger picture so that we can live more consciously in the present.
Your soul’s story, however you understand it, is still unfolding. And there may be far more possibilities ahead than you’ve allowed yourself to imagine.
