Your privacy at Vital Village

Last updated October 20, 2026

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit vitalvillage.ca, contact Sue, book a session, or follow a link to a class, gathering, book, or digital resource.

Sue Crielaard operates Vital Village Metaphysical in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact Sue page and include “Privacy request” in the subject.

Information you choose to share

The contact form collects your name, email address, subject, and message so Sue can respond to your enquiry, discuss a session or class, and provide support. Correspondence may be kept for follow-up and business records. Please share only what is needed for your question; do not send passwords, full payment-card details, identity documents, or sensitive health records through the website form.

Booking sessions and joining gatherings

Appointment links take you to Square, which collects the booking details you provide, such as your name, contact information, selected service, appointment time, and booking notes. Payment information may also be collected when a payment is required. Sue uses the information available through the booking system to arrange your session, communicate with you, and manage the booking.

For a Zoom appointment, mention that you need a Zoom link in the booking comments. Zoom handles technical and account information associated with your use of its service.

Some events link to an organizer’s registration website, including Tranquility Sound Baths & More. That organizer handles the registration and payment information you submit there under its own privacy practices. Check the event listing for the provider handling your registration.

Books, digital resources, and subscriptions

Book links may take you to Amazon, digital-resource links to SamCart, and writing or subscription links to Medium or Substack. These services handle the account, purchase, subscription, or payment information you provide on their websites. Following a link does not automatically subscribe you to Vital Village’s email list.

If you choose to use a Vital Village newsletter signup, your email address, any name supplied, subscription preferences, and consent records may be processed through Mailchimp. Newsletter services can record delivery, email opens, and link clicks depending on the settings used. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in an email or contact Sue for help. Necessary booking or support messages may still be sent.

Technical information and cookies

The website, its host, and security services may record technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, and error or security logs. This supports website operation, troubleshooting, and prevention of spam or misuse.

Cookies may support sign-in, preferences, comment forms, and embedded services. Google services connected through Site Kit can provide site measurement where configured. Embedded Instagram content, videos, maps, and externally hosted resources may send technical information to their providers when loaded or used, and those providers may set cookies or recognize you if you are signed into their service.

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies may affect some website or booking features. Contact Sue if you have questions about a particular service or tracking feature.

Comments and public contributions

If you leave a comment where commenting is available, the comment and display name may become public. The submitted email address, IP address, and browser information may be processed for moderation and spam prevention. Akismet and other security tools help protect the site against spam.

Where Gravatar is used, a hash derived from your email address may be sent to that service to display your profile image. Please avoid including private information in a public comment.

Service providers and information outside Canada

Website hosting, backups, email delivery, booking, payment, analytics, and security providers may handle information as needed for their services. Information may also be disclosed when required or permitted by law or in addressing fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.

Some providers store or process information outside Canada. That information may be subject to the laws of another country and lawful access by its authorities. Provider privacy notices explain their own practices:

How long information is kept

Retention depends on the purpose of the record. Booking and correspondence records support appointments and follow-up; financial records may need to be kept for accounting, tax, disputes, or legal obligations. Comments and their moderation information may remain with the published discussion. Subscription records may be retained to document consent or honour an unsubscribe request.

Backup copies may remain until they expire or are replaced. Contact Sue to ask what information is held about you or to request deletion where applicable.

Your questions and choices

You can request access to or correction of personal information held about you, ask about how it is used or shared, withdraw consent for optional uses, or request deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or outstanding transactions. Withdrawing information needed for an appointment or service may affect the ability to provide it.

Use the Contact Sue page to make a request. Sue may need to verify your identity before sharing or changing personal information. For information held directly by an external platform, you may also need to contact that provider.

If you have a concern, contact Sue so it can be addressed. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
